Follow a bunch of fishing pages on Instagram and I constantly see this name being thrown around. Is this a Florida thing or what?

I watch a lot of flats fishing shows and online videos and every time they say gator trout, its like nails on a chalkboard. Florida inshore fishing is a different world

I was reading microskiff.com a while back and they were whining about a LA fishing ad that had 18 specks laid out on the deck. They were treating it like some huge fish kill until someone called them out and told them the limit is 25 here.
