If you wanted a boat held you should have walked in there and given them a $100 goodwill deposit. I sell equipment and we hold no used equipment w/o a deposit. I'm sure they've been told before "I'm coming Friday to buy that boat" and never hear from the customer again. You need to walk in there, buy the boat and thank them for holding the boat so long on just your word.

A business shouldn't give them their word if there is no intention of holding that boat. End of story. A $100 down doesn't change shite

I feel like its on the seller to set the terms. In this case, seller was fine with no deposit.
