what are the eligibility rules when a child transfers from private to public school when it comes to being eligible for football in august?

If you are in that school zoning then you're eligible right away

If he lives in that particular public school district he is eligible right away.
Public to private is the one year sit.

This was a long time ago so I don't know if anything has changed, but when I transferred from a private that was almost fifty miles away from my house to a public a few miles from home, I was eligible immediately. Not sure if transferring into my actual attendance zone made any difference. I transferred my junior year.

You could get a judge to approve a court order making a relative at another address your kids legal guardian and he would be eligible.
