All the Pop I enjoyed on AAPL today was lost on XLNX. 9% drop on guidance. I struggle with fundamentals these days. Gross and net margins of 70% and 30% are huge compared to peers. Cash flow surged 75% from prior year quarter.

It's had a good run with the rest of this market but down 9%? Go figure.

Wow, just seeing all this. I have held some Apple since I first bought in at $109 a few years ago. I bought some more through the years and even as high as $650. Watched it go over $700, and then watched it tank into the $300's

But I didn't sell. Bought some more in the high $300's and have been feeling bi-polar with this freaking stock

I always thought Apple would get to $1000. After the split, I really hope I am right

I think you may be a bit delusional.

Of course I was joking, but one can dream.

When Apple hit $702, hoping it could get to $1000 wasn't "delusional". Just saying I'd really like to see it hit $1000 now.

But go on being a prick.

The 7-for-1 split makes sense. The all-time high was $704. When the split stock hits $100, then it will be in all-time-high territory again and will be easy to figure out when it gets there.

On an anecdotal note, I have coworkers who have not invested because they didn't want to own a couple shares. Whatever that means.
It means that they're better off not making their own investment decisions.

Woohoo, this cheap investor will finally have the money to get into AAPL!!! Haha I graduated LSU recently so I do not have much FU money to play with, but at $80 a share, it will allow me the opportunity to get in. Now I won't be buying 7 shares, but a little bit will help my portfolio for the long haul. I like the split. Wanted to get into NKE when they split 2 years ago but did not have the cash to do so. Bummer.

If you're spending $7 per trade to just get a share or two, then you're doing it wrong.

Haha I would agree but I put a little money on the side every month after 401K and Savings, which I play around on the market with. Not making OT Baller money yet but I do want to invest. Gotta start somewhere...

ETA: Even if I buy AAPL at the split and it makes 1/2 or 1/3 of a run it did previously, I will come out ahead, even only owning 4 or 5 shares.

This is about what I am paying too. I am still green to stocks so any info on how to do it cheaper would be appreciated.

That's about what I pay per trade. How much does it cost you?

It makes it more accessible and encourages individual investors that will not lay down a car note on one share of a stock.

It resets and then starts a climb from the reset.

Fwiw, I just shorted a couple hundred shares of AAPL @ $566.50.

When do they expire?

That's not the part I was referring to. It was the single share part. If you're buying just one or two shares (@ $70 per) at a time then you're spending way to much percentage-wise in the trade.

Sure. But do you have a way of trading for less than a few bucks?
