I'm supposed to calm down, what have I even said besides my opinion why it would be dumb for him to leave. I didn't know we couldn't state our opinion. Doesn't mean I'm not calm. You're the one on your high-horse acting like you know what's gonna happen. I was saying IF he leaves...that doesn't mean I'm saying he is leaving. How is that hard to understand?

And you have just as little idea as anyone else. Can you honestly say that Mickey didn't ask for the press conference?

Such a childish cop-out.

Thats funny. Then why did I say:
quote:

We don't know that.

After you went on about how Mickey is leaving and that it's bad for our program that he is leaving.

And you have just as little idea as anyone else.

No shite.

No. But why just assume he did and rip on him for it? It's pathetic.

Do I really need to quote you again?

How is it good for the program? To me it looks like it hurts the program since one of our best players is about to leave.

Nobody think Mickey leaving is good for the program. Let that sink in.

Now, if the decision has been made and he is going, then it very well may be in LSU's best interest to hold a press conference and sell this as a positive. Hell, just having Jones there to simply show leadership and describe a positive outlook for the future could go a long way. He could use it as a segue into the next season and the new guys we have coming in.

Personally, I don't think that's going to happen. I think it's much more likely that Mickey has decided to stay, and LSU is throwing a PC to garner excitement for next season.

Like I posted on the SECR: my head is going to explode if Kentucky returns the foundation they're expecting back and Mickey leaves

i think he could use TWO more years. anyway he should be back. unless his dad and him are getting terrible advice based on a couple games he showed out blocking shots due to excessive blow bys because we couldn't guard our own shadow.

really hope he isn't leaving because he won't get drafted. if he hates school and has quit going to class and fallen out with the coaches then he is porbably gone, but he could take a page from o'bryant's book and announce he is returning.

if he DID declare, iw ould at least hope he doesn't hire an agent at first so the door remains open for him to come back

He already got his draft eval. He has to either stay in or pull his name out of the hat before the 27th (pretty sure).

did they change the process? there used to be a difference between just getting your paperwork and actually declaring without hiring an agent so you could go through the workouts and interviews and such.

The date to cancel your NBA draft enrollment is done. If he declares there's no going back.

Oh, I gotcha. I figured that getting the paperwork, etc. went hand in hand with declaring while not hiring an agent. I was under the impression that an absolute final decision had to be made by the 27th.

Even if it is good PR it is stupid to have a press conference to say you are going to come back. Especially someone who is clearly not ready like Mickey. If a fan has to be motivated by a press conference to think about basketball then they aren't really a basketball fan.

Well, Julius Randle is leaving, but UK is expecting a couple of five star post players next season anyway.

UK is keeping a few guys I thought would leave. Cauley Stein and Poythress both staying was a bit surprising to me.
