Thanks pal. I'd brine and smoke a pork loin, a chicken or a slab or two of babybacks to get your feet wet. Those will be the easiest and least time consuming imo. Monitor fire temp and meat temp and there's nothing to it.

That's what I'm thinking. A Chicken or two and maybe some ribs.
I'm not interested at all in 8-10 hours...

I'm sure I'll try a Butt one of these days but I went ahead and got a whole chicken and a pork loin.
I googled a recipe for the chicken brine. Am I supposed to Brine the Loin as well?
I picked up a Whole Fryer. What kind of prep do I need to do to it before brining?
