Great place to watch a baseball game. I can't wait to go back

I have been to Wrigley Field a few times, while nostalgic and historic, that place is a freaking dump. 500 million is desperately needed!

I went last year. It has nice charm but Fenway is much nicer

I guess this just proves the old adage of of one man's trash is another man's treasure.
I'm not a fan of mt. dew rock climbing walls on the concourse but no doubt that appeals to plenty.
I just think some of you don't understand what that 500 million is being spent on. It will improve the asthetics inside the ball park some, but it's not trying to catch up with the jones and make sure it's got the loudest sound system to play walk up music.

I've been 4 times (one of those sitting in the outfield grass watching The Blues Brothers, ) and while I believe it to be my favorite place on earth as is, I'm a big proponent of making these changes that it needs to stay safe for the fans and the players. do I care about more concessions and shitters, not really. but other people do, and if it keeps the cubs playing in wrigley, then more power to the jumbotrons. i have no love lost for those rooftop owners; had it very very well for a long time. I'd sleep next the the kenny rogers roasters sign every night if it meant I got to put Waveland Ave on my return address stickers.

Off topic from is it or isn't it a dump. But did you see where the alderman for the ward where the free remote parking with free shuttle to the field to relieve congestion in the area of the ball park is now bitching and moaning becuase the cubs need a 'speical use' permit.
parking
It's almost laughable.

Ald. Ameya Pawar (47th) contended that the property's zoning only allowed for parking as an "accessory" to Basic Wire and Cable's associated business — essentially meaning use by the company's employees. Leasing the lot to a separate entity, like the Cubs, for public use wouldn't be allowed, he said.
Pawar said he was informed shortly before the Easter holiday that the Law Department agreed with his interpretation.
The Cubs are now caught between stipulations of the Neighborhood Protection ordinance — crafted to draw traffic away from Wrigleyville in exchange for the right to hold additional night games — and permit requirements.
It's one big extortion/kick-back fest.

I hadn't seen that, but it isn't even surprising, . When everything is in residential neighborhoods, each person who can is going to try to frick shite up in his or her own way to try to get whatever cash they can out of the deal. zoning laws like this can be used for safety for citizens, like they're supposed to, or they can be run through the meat grinder a thousand times like the IRS and create an set of rules that's impossible to comply with. its just another hoop they have to jump through. it'd be nice for people to tell you the rules before you make the deals, though...perhaps that's the cubs fault for not asking, who knows.
but enough about my opinions of a city government in a city i don't even live in, haha.

Visited the place in 2002 for a Cubs-Mets game while I was in Chicago, it was an awesome experience.

They said Kerry wood couldn't make it, and Sosa wasn't invited at all

Wonder when, or if, the cubs will bring him back in the fold.

Cubs may lose this game in Cub fashion. Bases loaded 0 outs for Arizona top of the 9th Cubs lead 5-2
