Should we reshape our government? Hear me out...

Keeping up with politics and making the right decision IMO is a full time fricking job... I'm not a communist, but I do think the wealth distribution is a major issue... Everyone wants to blame the president, but his job IMO is pretty much impossible... I wanna blame the people, not the government, but their job is pretty much impossible to make the right decisions on all levels, while you know... living and raising a family.
I don't know if this is the right answer, but maybe we should reshape it so that we actually have time to speak to a politician, research them, and make sure they are voting in our best interests... I think for the most part politicians serve the interests of the people if they aren't corrupt... but I think they both become corrupt and stop serving the interests of the people because the people don't have the info or time to make the correct choice in electing one.
Maybe I'm wrong, I don't know... it's hard enough to take the time to make a correct choice on the president and governor... much less the senators and representatives... and then the local mayors, judges, etc... Politics have become like a big business.. Walmart or Target...

If you mean make it as small as possible and only relegated to a role of providing a national defense, protecting lives, punishing criminals who slander, steal and harm people, and enforcing private property rights and settling disputes between two private parties and staying the frick out of its citizens lives?

Yes. And weeding out the Nazis would be a good start.

just don't ask me to pay for something I don't receive. Or make me receive something I can't afford

I live a very simple life that I can afford (kinda)... fortunately... I live this life in a area I can afford it in even though I barely make ends meet.. And I don't even have kids, or expensive rent... How the frick would I make it on this type of pay elsewhere I don't know... especially if I had a kid... even if I made another 5 bucks an hour.

See, that's what's good about freedom. You are absolutely free to change jobs, get more training, move somewhere else if necessary.
Is it hard? Yes, sometimes. I've been there. You might not even like your new job. But you have the freedom to choose whether to live like you do now, or upgrade to afford children, etc.
It is not the job of the government (or the taxpayers) to give you the money/things you want. It's your job to do that.
You talk about morals. IMO it's immoral to take from those who have done the work to get to where they are, and give the gains to someone who hasn't. (This should not be construed to mean that people in need should not be helped. But the help should go to those who can't help themselves, not to the don'ts and won'ts).
You seem to be in a blue mood, all this talk of dying and destitution. Hope it lifts soon. Get a little sunshine today; it works wonders.

Well, 6 down votes and only one up vote... time to start preparing to live off the grid.

I see how Americans live compared to the rest of the world, I don't' see a problem like many do with income inequality. that's a bunch of MSNBS
I am of the opinion that most CEO's are worth their salt. They didn't just get placed in that position to lead billion dollar companies.
Few can lead a big company. Heck leading a small company into success is difficult.
So the Average Joe sits around complaining about their circumstances instead of fighting to get better and be worth more so they can demand higher wages.
Americans want the big lifestyle doing 8-5,1 hour fat lunch, no weekends, no stress, little responsibility, full benefits and 3 weeks of vacation, 401k match, etc.
most people aren't willing to work as hard as those achieving very high levels.
So I don't see it as inequality or corrupt. I just see it as a consequence of your decisions, education, training, field, drive, timing etc.

We already have the best system of government - we just aren't following it.

The *Government* is a reflection of the minds of the electorate. And it will be no more effective, or successful in it's imagined task to "promote the common welfare" in the "pursuit of happiness" than the common wisdom to envision just WHAT is required for happiness re individuals and the collective.
If the people are without wisdom...then the task of government becomes that of herding cats. 'Animal Farm', as it were.
Watch major media. Assess the commercial ads and the News. Know the vision (or lack thereof) and values of the folk. And "reshape" the Government required to handle that. Lock and load. Good luck!

Say what ?
I would have to disagree ... it is possible to make good decisions, be independent and self-sufficient, and live and raise a family.... without being some "victim" who complains about government all the while suckling on the G Teat.
It is easily possible.
