Spoke with an employee who informed me they will be shutting the doors within the week.

When I lived in BR (in Tara), we would swing by Pastime Jr on occasion.
In fact, that was the first hot meal I had after Gustav.
Boudin pizza FTW!

I stopped through there and had a Boudin pie a month or so ago when I was in town.
Hate to hear this for some reason.

that sucks. i live near there. we went every now and then. they delivered so we used that more than eating in the restaurant. the location in the shopping center is not great. unless you know they are there, you would never know by just driving by on jefferson.

That is a shame considering the ridiculous money the Pastime is raking in downtown.

I know my parents order to go from there fairly often, my dad always talks about how crowded it is

Might have something to do with the new owners of the shopping center.

I'm so gonna miss having to write my order down.

I believe I saw Jarrreau bought it a few weeks ago. Correct?

Pastime is IMO one of the most overrated joints in BR. I can understand liking it for sentimental reasons, but the pizza is crap. I've had the boudin pizza twice and both times it was so bland and tasteless.

I hate to see that. Every time the family and I ate there the place was packed and people would have to leave because of how small the dining area was. The guys that were there on weekends would always talk to my children and made us feel welcome. You guys will be missed and thanks for all the great food and service.

I work there and its a really great job. Nothing is certain right now, we may get a new lease, and we might be there through May. But it does not look bright I'll say that.
My knowledge of the situation is very limited, but it appears to be a product of poor communication which is a shame. Revenue at the restaurant has fallen the past two years but it is still by and large a profitable going concern.
Several quality individuals will likely be out of work when this thing resolves itself. So if you don't mind come visit this weekend. It would mean a little more money in the pockets of some soon to be unemployed folk.

Yes. Jarreau and a group of investors bought it.

I won't say anything about the crust because it is a secret. I know a lot of people hate the crust so they probably don't even want to know.
I will say there are some fundamental differences in it and every other crust in the city. Yes it is something like a thick cracker, but the most crucial advantage that crust has is that it's got less calories than any crust nearly as significant.
When you eat any other pizza you are eating more bread than if you were eating one of our pizzas. Maybe you like that, but I think it's definitely worth considering.
