New NBA rule is a Money profit for NBA teams

This is to use the D-league to save money... They see it as I can draft these kids send them to the d-league for a year or two paying them 40-50k a year instead of drafting them after one year of college ball and paying them million of dollars. So now you stay two years in college so now I have a extra year to develop my star draft pick and not have to throw out major money. Notice how now the D-league games are televised now on NBATV. Now they are promoting D-League cause I can send Julious Randall which is a raw player to the D-League for a lil bit of nothing to develop a jump shot. This is my opinion tell me what y'all think.

wrong board
But, I'm confused on your logic. How will this help the D League again?
the superstar players being drafted will still get big contracts, they'll just be a year older when they get them.

They are also expected to raise minimum wage of D League. Different than the 2 yr NCAA rule.

Right, but why will this send more newly drafted players to the d league like the OP is suggesting.
I think he's confused and thinks that they can go straight to the D League out of high school or 1 year of college, they just cant play for the major teams in the NBA?
ETA:
I need him to clarify his theory.
One thing he said is definitely right, though, any decision will be a "money profit" for the NBA. They dont make decisions for any reasons other than cash.

This could improve the D-League but not for the reasons you mentioned. They may increase the salaries making it a more desirable destination for a broke college kid.
A NBA lottery team isn't going to use a top 5-10 pick on a star and immediately send him to the D-league just to save money. They need the help and this would enrage the fans and the player.

I thought I heard on the radio that it was a possibility that players could leave college after 1 year for the D-league and stay there 1 year? Maybe I'm wrong on that.

They arent going to send a guy to the D league if they can play in the NBA.
Youre all over the place with this. And Im not sure what you are trying to say. They dont send star players to the d league. And, by the players staying 2 years in college they should be a little bit more developed and a lot of guys wouldnt need to go to the D league.
No offense, but if you think changing in from 1 and done to 2 years is a ploy to save $$$$, its just dumb. Professional leagues arent hurting for $$$ and arent trying to save $$$$ by sending a star player to the D league. They want their top draft pick to play in the NBA, not in the D league.

Me either. I was under the impression that the 2 yrs was to enter draft. Which would mean going professional in USA, which includes D League.

Interesting. One thing I would point out is that it is even cheaper for them to have them in D-league. The salary is not

Y'all are probably right. I was listening to Mascona in BR and he was saying that as a possibility but sounds like he got himself confused lol

That's what I understood is after one year you can enter but go play D-League ball for a year. Which is my point what I'm saying about Randall and Wiggins... Dominant college players but not really ready for the NBA yet. So what I'm saying these youngsters out of high school with NBA potential will be developing a extra year without the NBA having to pay major money.

Can't they draft players right now and send them to the D-League?
I don't get what you're trying to say.

Randall is the most NBA ready out of all the prospects in this draft.
Do you think Wiggins and Randall will actually play in the D League?
And if its true that after 1 year of playing college ball, a player can go play in the D League, I doubt that many college guys will actually do that when they can stay in college and play on national TV, March Madness, etc.

Basically this works for one year. After that the talent will come in the league at the same rate it does now. It only puts a one season delay for the transition.

Sending guys you draft down to the d league doesn't save you money. They still make whatever their rookie deal calls for them to make.
