If passed, how many big name prospects go to Europe instead of enrolling in college?

That's what's going to happen. The NBA is using the college game as an evaluation league for potential players. Taking these kids directly out of high school is too risky and a bust could cost them big money. Better to have them play a year or two of college ball to see how they develop before making a decision to draft them or not. They'll do the same with the kids who go to Europe since the NBA and not some German league is the dream for these kids.

Well, this is pretty much what they do in all college sports.

At the end of the day, I think it will greatly improve the college basketball game. Some will leave, but many will stay.

How much would it hurt the college game though? How many big name recruits would we be talking about going overseas?

And I know they wouldn't stay in Europe permanently, just until they are eligible for NBA. My main concern is this rule's effect on college basketball.

Maybe a few...but the very large majority will play college ball.
