you bring up a good point.... how many other coaches would have come in and kept this program on a high level like clm has .... it could have very easily have gone the other way , and whoever takes the place of clm will have some big shoes to fill....

Yeah, Les has a lot of snippets in the national media even during the off season, always well received by them. Hoping for a bigger splash this year.

everyone (including you) is originally a good person. it is by nurture that the self hate is born. you were hated as a child and want to show everyone that you are good at hate.

this is not psychology, it is philosophy.

You said that 100% of people you come across tell you that Les is a "loser douchebag." What did you expect, high fives? Normally those that don't like Les might say he is too quirky or something of that nature. Loser douchebag is something you say about a slacker stoner teen or something. It just doesn't even come across as a believable statement. My buddy that graduated from Bama and is a huge Bama fan has nothing but respect for Les.

I'm not a big fan of Les Miles.
But there isn't one realistic alternative out there I would want over him . He recruits too well.

I'm a huge fan of Miles. Sure, he has done things that annoy me but I get over it. Every coach, for every team does things that annoy their fans at one time or another.
Along with the reasons already mentioned by previous posters, he's a super nice guy. I've met him several times personally and he's always very easy going and welcoming. It's easy to see why the players love him.
Quit your stupid trolling and just drop it already. You don't like the guy, we get it. You've contradicted yourself once already and you make yourself look more like a goof.

This isn't true. I travel extensively, all over America. I'd estimate 30% of the time it's as kjntgr says, but most of the time people sincerely like him. He had a bad period when LSU had a couple of highly publicized end of the game screw ups. He's still living down those instances. They happen to every coach, however, so it's bound to happen again to Les. That will revive the "He's a bufoon" talk, but Les will just keep on winning.

Tduecen, I have to jump in here. I've raised four kids to adulthood, and I've established my bonsfides on this subject. Saban is a neglectful parent. If there's a line to walk, and my kids were on it, it was only because they were crossing it. But each time they did, my wife and I herded them back. We did this while building very successful careers, too. Saban's kids have all the signs of being a neglectful celebrity's children. You use results (3 of 5 nattys) to declare him a great coach; use results, then, to judge him as a parent...and that case is closed!
