RTR, looking into your post history, maybe I owe you an apology... I don't believe you're a bama fan... You are an LSU fan

So I apologize for throwing those accusations out there

No problem....I've got a very very thick skin....ex-military you learn to grow one quickly.
Besides if we can't argue about our enigmatic coach, then what fun is there on this site.

I love how he could only win with Saban's players...

If I dislike anything it is that he is probably not the best clock/ time out manager.

he gets great recruits, the players love playing for him, he addresses coaching issues/ needs and fixes them before the start of the season, he's not afraid to suspend/ bench you know matter how good of a player you are.

As someone who here in 08 and 09, I can guarantee you there was certainly disdain, if not hate, from some toward Miles.

Tthey have gone underground or changed screen names, but they still around. Four straight 10 win seasons after they had proclaimed that Miles was driving LSU football into the ground has calmed the waters somewhat, but some return after any loss.

1. Better in-game clock mgmt. and use of time-outs.

Has he not gotten better? That problem didn't seem to exist with Jimbo and Cam maybe Crowton was expected to call time outs and have sub packages ready. Either way he seems to be more on top of it now.

2. Proactive instead of reactive in handling certain player/coach problems.
so he should just fire coaches and cut players before they do something wrong? The last three major coaching issues he seems to have made home run hires. Dual DCs - Chief, Stud OC - Cameron, and Stud OL - Busta Grimes.

3. Showing up and having the team ready to play every game...particularly against clearly over-matched opponents.
I agree we should never lose to UAB...oh wait.

In 2011 we annihilated all of our foes except Bama and that was with a decent offense. I believe this will become more common under CCC. Now if you are talking about beating scrubs by 60 points versus 25, what's the point?

5. Less of a mule-headed offensive philosophy when things aren't working.

Again he is not the OC but let me get this straight, when the offense isn't executing you want to complicate it?

quote:

6. Sticking with players who have the "hot hand" in games where often times these guys disappear on the sidelines.
so now you are saying that because you know everything that's going on with player health status that Les is just randomly changing players?

7. Answer questions directly when on camera...forego the "coach speak."
What coach does this? And actually if it is important enough and doesn't impact his game day coaching he does. See the rant about not going to michigan and defending his players.

Saban took a team made up mostly of that roster to the SEC championship in 2001, the won the title in 2003.

That looks dangerously close to Les's first few seasons. Let's not act like Saban started with an empty cupboard.

It's amazing how some clowns want to act as if Nick Saban had no talent at LSU when he took over, but Les Miles walked into truck loads of talent. If that was the case in 2004, why did LSU only win nine games, come in third in the west, and finish out of the top 15? Must have been some bad coaching going on at LSU in 2004.

Good thing Saban ran to the pros and Les came in to coach up the talent that had been wasted in 2004.
