Athlon ranks SEC QBs. Harris (12th) and Rivers (14) starting at Vandy.

You know the SEC is down on QBs when Marshall, Wallace & Prescott are in the top 4.
Prescott averaged 269 yards a game in league play last year playing injured, splitting time, dealing with his mother's cancer and ultimately mourning her death. The guy did a lot with a group of receivers who all literally had their best year this year.
Marshall averaged 263 yards a game in league play having learned the offense in two weeks prior to the season. I think if he had a summer to work on timing with his WRs, he would have been even better. They also lost three of their four leading pass catchers from the year prior. Coates was their best returning pass catcher with 6 receptions.
Wallace was supposedly playing through a shoulder injury, but averaged 300 yards a game through conference play. While his pass TDs were lacking, he did get 6 rushing to total 24 TDs. He completed nearly 65% of his passes, and ten interceptions isn't bad considering he throws a lot and he improved from the 17 the year prior.
IMO, all these guys are in better situations than they were last year and even still they all had a shite ton of production. I'd definitely put them as the top three. Mason, Thompson, Mauk, and whoever the TAMU QB is, will round out the top half of the league. The bottom have is a crapshoot.

Oh I don't disagree with them being at the top of the list. I just think they are all average QBs and it shows how down the SEC will be this year at that position.

Damn. Seems like you need to relax. Sorry that no one cares how Athlon ranked a bunch of QBs they haven't seen play.
Obviously you cared enough to comment. I enjoy preseason ranking no matter how good or bad they seem. Since I don't really follow another sport closely, that 8 month no sport hiatus is a bitch. It's why I read up on other teams instead of just LSU and I can see a different perspective than just "this guy sucks".

Did something happen to Robinette?

Brandon Harris will be number one on that list one day

Something tells me that the two Mississippi QBs perform better than expected.

nah. Marshall is going to have nearly 4000 total yards and 35+ TDs. Dak had nearly 2800 splitting time last year and gets all his receivers back. He'll have over 3500 30+ TDs himself.

I think Prescott will have a solid year.
I think Bro Wallace might underwhelm.

DGB is gone. HUGE loss. Also, will they have the most ridiculously easy SEC schedule again this year?
Dak is the best in the conference and should be the starter at LSU.

It's gonna be a defensive year in the SEC.

I guess some people will always try to find something to laugh about in order to show how ignorant they actually are. Bo Wallace was one big reason why we lost last year's game to Ole Miss as he consistently converted on third and long. Also if you bother to watch this year's Ole Miss spring game, he looked really sharp and even more accurate than last year.
I can't say Nick Marshall is better than Bo Wallace, but he did lead his team to beat Bama (which no other SEC QB did last year) and an appearance in NCG, and he is a senior, so putting him to the top spot is a reasonable choice.

Dak & Maty are legit. Bo Wallace is a joke IMO. LSU will have the best QB in the SEC by the end of the season...

No it won't. Offense has just finally reached the SEC. Get used to it.
