So billionaire in NYC wants to open in a plant in La, use out states resources, water and natural gas, to create a product for export, inevitably leave by product here, and just some low level plant jobs are what we get. Are these resources unlimited? Does it have no impact? Just use us up, make your money, then leave the shite and go into another venture in a third world country somewhere?

I'm with you, cone on down...but if you aren't giving Edwin 50 million for the sweet contract then can we use it for something else?

If you are really too stupid to understand the positive impact this will have on LA or are intentionally downplaying it as just "low level plant jobs" then I am not going to continue to argue with you about it.

I'll give you a hint though...the positives outweigh the negatives.

Also...LoL @ you blaming EE 18 years after he went to jail for something that has only been in the works for 3 or 4 years now. That just shows your ignorance and biased.

Gaston, I really think you are stuck in some kind of mid 1980's state of mind. Not sure why all of the butthurt, but this state needs these jobs and you really seem to be uninformed over how good most of these jobs are.
These permanent full time labor guys in alot of instances in the plants will have salaries of $50-65K a year and with experience and overtime are making over $100K. These jobs come with outstanding bennefits too.

Yes the safety and environmental records were kind of shitty 20 plus years ago. These companies are under a microscope now and are a whole different animal than they used to be.
I know of a refinery in south La that just went through a turnaround over over 900K man-hours and did not have one recordable injury.

And lets not forget that the people that build these plants make some pretty damn good $$$ too.
