You were the one saying sensitive skin? If so the most popular Proraso is green. With eucalyptus. It is tingly. But Proraso also has a blue tube that is soothing and a red tube that is sandalwood.

Proraso green is the most common, that's the normal one. But they make sensitive skin version that comes in a white tub. Have a full container of it that I haven't tried yet. Someone gave me both as a gift.

I'm going to check out these other brands. I'm a huge impulse buyer. Went there for blades and got sucked in. Oh well.

My technique could still use some work. I hit a geyser every four shaves it seems.

My biggest problem is that I rush. I think I'm going to have to get a chair and mirror- like a woman.

I probably wouldn't feel naturally rushed if I wasn't stopped over at a 90 degree angle for 30 minutes.

I use DR Harris lime, almond and lavender. Pre de province and musgo real aftershave.

I straight razor shave.

This stuff is awesome. Have some on the way right now.

Currently still have my pure badger brush with a pretty decent $20 straight razor. Three passes every other day. Basic Gillette aftershave.

You should seriously consider a shavette if you're having trouble with the DE.

That's ridiculous.

I don't understand how people will swear by a certain razor. Do you think there's that much of a difference in the blades? That being said, I get a closer shave when using a high quality shaving cream.

Merker is higher quality. It is probably heavier as well. You want the weight of the razor to do the work when shaving with a DE blade.

Well it all depends on what feels better in your hand. I like mine a little heavier and bigger. Think mine was $80 retail. Probably find it cheaper online.

I'm not familiar with those products but mine is heavy metal.

It's a better quality shave SS but you can't do it in 5 minutes like a disposable 5 blade.

You can use the products with the 5 blade but I like a close shave. It allows me not to shave everyday. It works for me.

Well that was for the shaving kits. After I bought my razor, my investment is like $12 every 4 months for blades.

$90 every six for the shaving product itself. Long-term you save money over the expensive 5 blade.

I think they hosed you.....

I can make an 8 pack of regular Mach 3 cartridges last me a year for $24.99. Been having the same razor for probably 5-8 years.... If you take care of the blades and dry them and actually use hot water and soften and prep your face before hand the blades last for probably 2 months.

Another tip is you can actually sharpen the blades by rubbing them on some denim (It seems to help atleast)

I'll actually use the older blades and shave my balls

Me thinks you guys are being sold...

If you go to Aidan Gill in NOLA. The guy that everyone goes to to get pampered. Guess what, he breaks out the newest Mach and shaves you, says that with the technology today, you can't get a closer shave with anything else fwiw

Well it's entirely up to you. I enjoy it and find it relaxing to some degree. I don't get irritation of I do the entire process or razor bumps which is a problem for me.

It's something I found that works where I can shave back against the grain without getting bad irritation.

Even the guy in West Village this past week commented on how sensitive my skin was.

Some guys can dry shave with no problems, others in the shower. Personally it's the only thing that doesn't make my face look like a 15 yr old before work with a rash.
