She will return to work.

where would you prefer your children to grow up, Chicago or in the NY/NJ area?
With my current role, I can move wherever I want to, as long as i'm close to an airport. So, with that in mind our intention would be to go back down South. She's from Kentucky and i'm from Georgia so we would probably move to suburbs of Atlanta.
The only real reason to take the other job would be for the money...flat out. Trying to figure out what that dollar amount would be to sacrifice something for money is the hard part. Everyone has a #. I think mine would be closer to $50k.

I have been faced with a similiar situation for a few years. I could probably go somewhere else and make 15-20% more, but my life is very cush. Its hard to give up something that is easy, and is good $$ for an unknown.
I have chosen to stay put in this situation since 2011 b.c its comfortable, but i always wonder what it would be like.
BTW, 30-40k more in NY/NJ area will absolutely be eaten up by higher cost of living. Also, if you are in 3 states that means driving, and driving in that area sucks balls.
