While I can't give you any worthwhile advice, I will say congratulations on making yourself such a marketable producer.

Just one idea, if you plan on having children, will your wife return to work afterwards or will she plan on being a full-time mom? The answer to that question might influence your decision.

Also, where would you prefer your children to grow up, Chicago or in the NY/NJ area?

Sounds like you should stay put. You could potentially do 3 of the biggest life events you can do if you move 1.) Change Jobs 2.) Relocate 3.) Have a Baby.

IMO, Chicago is much better than those areas of the NE, as well.

Quality of life, my friend!

She will return to work.

With my current role, I can move wherever I want to, as long as i'm close to an airport. So, with that in mind our intention would be to go back down South. She's from Kentucky and i'm from Georgia so we would probably move to suburbs of Atlanta.

The only real reason to take the other job would be for the money...flat out. Trying to figure out what that dollar amount would be to sacrifice something for money is the hard part. Everyone has a #. I think mine would be closer to $50k.
