If I have a small child, is the neighbor doing a background check on these renters?

AirBnB DOES NOT background check, but I hate to break it to you...neither do most apartments and landlords.

I've made over $10k and scored Voodoo artist credentials all since November. I love doing it. I don't rent to anyone under 25. I've rented to mostly couples, small families and professionals, or older groups.

I don't have any problem with you doing it. I would have a problem with it if I lived next door to you in an apartment complex and you rented to a sex offender.

is this your full time residence or a rental property?

not a big deal if it is a rental property...if this is where I live full time, I can't imagine letting complete strangers live there...

Every apartment I've rented (and I haven't rented in about a decade) did a background and credit check.

I'm very familiar with a few real estate firms who do property management, and all of them perform background checks.

In fact, no one who rents doesn't perform a background check because if the tenant doesn't pay the rent (or worse), the owner is screwed.
