Yes, I pay annually for a free range permit to the FS. Doesn't amount to a whole lot of money compared to what it would cost me to feed my horses and mules.

About 5 years ago I had an extended legal battle with the FS regarding the FRP. Since it was a grandfathered permit, I eventually ended up winning the battle. Surrounding ranches that didn't choose to fight the fight have since lost their range permits.
