Yep, once a year or so. I come out of a dream and I'm convinced someone is in the room next to me who shouldn't be there, but somehow I can't move. By the time I can I've come to my senses.

yup, i have not had it in about 3 years but when I lived at my parents house during summer breaks it happened all the time.

It is definite sign that you are being abducted by aliens.

I had it happen about 10 times in the span of a year a few years back. Haven't had it happen since then. It really freaked me out the first few times it happened because I didn't know what was going on. Very weird feeling.

Had it happen a few times, once I realize what it is, I normally try to fall back asleep.

I've experienced it a handful of times. I always just close my eyes to go right back asleep to avoid seeing all the demons, if they are there.

Twice. The first time was scary as hell. I was breathing heavy on purpose as a way to ask for help....eventually I could move again.

Shite sucked.

As stupid as it may sound, I have always wanted to experience this at least one time in my life. I've heard about it for years and read a lot about different scenarios, but sleep paralysis is intriguing to me.

I find it happens to me if I go a night with only 1h or 2 hrs of sleep. The next night when I go to sleep, its such a deep state and it happens. Maybe once every year or 2.

Also, in high school it happened a couple times a year from staying up. I would fall asleep in my desk and be unable to lift myself up, wake up etc.

No dark figures for me.

I experience the feeling in bunches but haven't in probably 6 months.. I usually panic at first with more of a sense of unknown on what's happening and where I am. After a few seconds I can usually gather myself and ride it out.. I concentrate on small movements and waking myself completely up.. It is pretty damn freaky to say the least and makes me realize how tough paralyzation would be.

ETA: I don't remember ever seeing anything but have on occasion felt that something was close and breathing.. It's a weird feeling to wake completely up with your heart pounding out of fear

It has been a few years thankfully, but it used to happen to me a few times a year.

I sometimes fall asleep with my hands together, it seemed like anytime I woke with sleep paralysis my hands would be together with my fingers intertwined, and I would not be able to pull them apart. Now I make sure to never let my hands get that way and it seems to have stopped me from waking up paralyzed.

It was terrifying when I was young, more of a frustration when I got older.

The first time it happened I was in the basement at my grandparents house up north and woke up because I thought I heard my name being called by my other grandfather that had recently passed away. I know I dreamed that part, but waking up to that in a pitch black basement and not being able to move was insane, I was like 12.

I used to get it all the time...Haven't in a long while.

I think it my be caused by stress or other outside factors, that can disrupt your sleep patterns. I know that it was at it's peak for me a day or so after a long weekend of heavy partying or stressful weeks
