I wonder how many of those states voted Obama.
And here we are...
Wait...a number provided by the Gov't isn't clear and forthcoming...
Gov't: STACKED People: FCKD
quote:
The Obama administration and Michigan officials are in discussions on a deal that would free up an additional $100 million to soften the blow to Detroit pensioners facing cuts in Detroit's bankruptcy negotiations
quote:
a $7.6 billion Obama administration effort established in 2010 to help the 18 states most hurt by the housing downturn.
I wonder how many of those states voted Obama.
quote:
Obama, not keen to set a precedent of the federal government sending money to cities or states with deep pension debts, has said the public does not support the bailout of bankrupt Detroit. But Obama also has been under pressure from unions not to let retirees suffer in Detroit, a city that votes heavily Democratic.
And here we are...
quote:
It wasn't immediately clear whether the $100 million in federal money is included in the calculations in Tuesday night's pension agreements
Wait...a number provided by the Gov't isn't clear and forthcoming...

Haw-Haw! Hey Detroit gave 70 percent of its vote to Obama. That is how it works.

You are obviously reading it wrong, Obama said his administration would be the most transparent ever.

Nice reward to the unions for providing Dear Leader with a majority of their city's votes. Yet another constituency bought and paid for with the money of hard-working Americans. What an absolute joke of an administration.

actually the city of Detroit should be held to their obligations for pensions... not the feds... the city shouldn't skate

It is amazing how similar our version of democracy is to that of the Hugo Chavez's of the world now.

It has NO money to pay for it. They can't print money and they can't borrow at the level to meet the obligation. Detroit and the people in it dug their own grave.
I feel the same way about the rest of us; we deserve the gov't in DC that we have.

Did anyone here actually ever doubt that our federal tax dollars were going to end up bailing out Detroit?
I never had a doubt.
I never had a doubt.

This surprises you somehow?

I just assumed Detroit would be revitalized with high-speed rail, and some solar panel factories.
