Need suggestions on this one.

Wife is terrified of the dark/being alone at night when I'm not home. She can't sleep and hears noises. Off the chain paranoid and now she's rubbing off on my 9-year-old daughter. They're both a couple of major scaredy-cats. My 3-year-old is scared of nothing thankfully....attribute that to being a guy but who knows.

Here's the biggest prob: taught her to shoot a couple of years ago and she's actually drawn-down on me once and was ready to a second time coming in late a couple of nights...dirty harriet.

Safe neighborhood...alarm system...lights on....not sure what else to do.

Anybody else ever had to deal with this???

No. Because she knows she has a man that can take care of business.

If I come in late I have to text my wife to let her know I'm coming in. She is also afraid of the dark and being alone.

I'd go talk to her parents and find out what they did that screwed her up so bad.

I was going to suggest some BBC so she wouldn't be lonely, but she's afraid of the dark soooo.

My SO certainly is, but she grew up half a mile from a BR ghetto so maybe her concern is warranted.

Mine is like that, but she has a prescription for Xanax so that helps

A dog would help. I get scared if alone at night and hear something but if dogs don't go crazy I don't worry.

Nothing but a bunch of dumbass responses. Your wife's issue sounds serious and deep-seated. It's more than worth it to have her see someone professionally. I would assume some underlying problem drives this phobia/paranoia.

#1) Trade the guns for tasers. She doesn't have the temperament to use a gun wisely.

If not, can I buy some life insurance on you, good buddy???
