Not to freak you out, but my dad had one ear with hearing loss much worse than the other, and it turned out to be caused by a brain tumor (the tumor was benign, removed last year, and he's completely fine now). But definitely worth having the doc check it out.
I was just reading an article about how hearing loss is up 31% in teens in the last 20 years.
