Same thing is happening with my dad. He is deaf, or mostly deaf in one ear and it is a pain in the arse to talk with him. You have to basically scream at him to talk to him. If he is on the other side of the room forget it. Other ear is ok though. Thing is he knows he has a bad ear but won't admit he need to get it checked out.

Not to freak you out, but my dad had one ear with hearing loss much worse than the other, and it turned out to be caused by a brain tumor (the tumor was benign, removed last year, and he's completely fine now). But definitely worth having the doc check it out.
