But if the Saints scouting department rates two players with the exact same grade, and the coaching staff likes both of them, and one of them is from LSU, the LSU player is going to get picked. Anyone who doesn't think so is the one who's being naive.
But position would still come before any college would even start to be considered(and it won't be).
It would have to be similar rating at a similar position that's the highest need in the bubble of players, and then they'd still take the guy they like slightly more before taking someone just because it's LSU.

Hes not around the plays much. Lot of negatives and that you tube vid is quite unspectacular. And hes an LSU player, so theres that.....

Then the DTs then maybe? I don't really know the defensive players coming out for LSU this year.

I guess another possibility was that he was there just because the whole team took the trip.

The DTs are the best prospects on that side of the ball. I don't know if we'd spend a 2nd or 3rd round pick on one of them though.
