He stopped paying when he discovered the BLM was using that money to buy out other ranchers, and pay the BLM's legal fees against them.

That old man's great grandfather bought the rights in 1887. The BLM was created in the 1900's under the idea it would help manage the property by improving roads and crossings. They got crossed in the 1990's with this guy Cliven Bundy.

True. But sending a freaking army with armor and helicopters and snipers and K9's to intimidate crowds and 'free speech pens' on public land and tazing people who've done nothing but exercise their free speech rights and generally do everything in their power to be as intimidating and escalating the situation as possible....

Kinda trumps the offense.

Sheriffs departments get cows off public land all over this country every day and have been doing it forever.

They also enforce evictions and tax sales and RARELY is that ever a violent confrontation. And never is it one requiring a couple hundred federal stormtroopers to swoop in.

If you owe the feds money, they generally can get that without you ever actually meeting a fed in person via the IRS.

But in this case, the guy said no.

ERRRRRBODY FREAK OUT.
