Deer run away from barking dogs. It's how dog hunting works. Stop whining, set up ahead of them, and shoot

Are man drives gonna be illegal now? Still hunting? Stalking?

Nah, way more fun to just blame them for why I can't kill deer.

If you chase me away from my house, my food, and my family, and then leave.....what do you think I am going to do.

There are some lazy people that need to get out of their heated stands and actually start hunting deer

Are you talking about a prescribed burning program?

They started talking about this in 2011.

they actually began to not allow dog hunting for deer on any NEW leases about that time; but had existing leases "grandfathered in" if they submitted a request. this decisions bans dog hunting for deer on ALL lands leased from weyerhaeuser, existing or new.

Wait just a second. I dont hunt in heated box stands but sitting on the tailgate of a truck on a logging road waiting for a dog to chase a deer across isnt no more glorious than sitting in a stand waiting for one to come eat clover

I think you meant standing beside a truck on a highway, talking on a CB while you just happen to have a firearm laying on the ground. Not hunting mind you, the gun is only there for self defense in case you see bigfoot or a black panther.

At least there is SOME sport involved in that. Getting your chauffer to drop you off at the Mariott of deer stands aint right, especially if you just pay extra for other people to do your work and scout for you.

They really get those MRAPs for $15k?

In the end it comes down to respect. A lot of dog hunters have no respect for neighboring landowners. Typical dog hunter response, "Dogs can't see a posted sign."

Not saying all dog hunters do this, but I can almost guarantee that every hunter has had at least one hunt ruined by a dog hunter.

We used to dog hunt on our club when I was a kid. It was fun, but we had over 5,000 acres and made sure that our dogs stayed on the club. Still, the club voted out dog hunting over 20 years ago.

Heard Weyerhaeuser (one of the main lessors of timberland in north Louisiana) has made a decision to ban dog hunting for deer on allof its leased property starting in the 2015-2016 season. Anyone know of any specifics on this?
They've already done this on our lease in northern Livingston Parish

i of course don't know the specifics of that, FOREVER, but is that lease a "new" lease; or did your lease previously hunt deer with dogs and have those rights "revoked" by weyerhaeuser for some sort of violations? i understand from weyerhaeuser that starting about 2011 they were not allowing dog hunting for deer on "new" leases but any existing leases were "grandfathered in" upon completion of weyerhaeuser's own "reqest/proposal" plan.

again... i don't know, just putting out there what i understood. not a big deal either way in the grand scheme of things.

Huge waste of space. 18 tons, gets 5 miles to the gallon, and expensive to maintain.

I enjoy still hunting and hunting with dogs whether it be deer, squirrel, rabbit, hogs.

We have more and more humans every year with this same disorder you claim dogs have as well

Some people sit for an entire season waiting for the big one, and that one time in December a dog runs their box, it was the cause of the entire season being a failure because that might have been the day.
