Every guy on that list had there issues heading into the draft. Plus, many of those receivers went to poorly run organizations. It's not always the fault of the player for not panning out. The coaching staffs are just as responsible for player development as the player is. If your organization & coaching staff is a shitty mess then guess how the players who are supposed to develop under them will turn out?

We have been blessed to have turned that corner under Payton & Loomis. They have made it a habit of developing players & getting the most out of those players especially on the offensive side. Defensively, that's been a different story but part of that has been the inconsistency at defensive coordinator. That seems to be resolved at this point.

Back to Austin. He wasn't a number one type receiver. He's a piece you add to an already solid corp to bring explosiveness & big play ability. He will prove his worth if the Rams get better at QB & put some quality receivers around him. At this point in time, his ability to maximize his potential is limited due to the reasons I've already listed.
