Highlights of a small, speedy, highly touted WR rookie!
I take it the Rams issues at quarterback or the ground & pound philosophy that had to be installed because of the issues at quarterback, ultimately had nothing to do with Austin's production? This was a terrible example to use.
What would have Austin's been like playing with decent quarterback or in one of the best offenses like the Saints, Broncos or Patriots? It's not always about a draftees talent alone but it will always be about how well does that potential selection fit in your system. Austin was limited in his rookie season because of having a QB who had his issues in the passing game.

some issues in StL but WRs might have the second highest bust rate of 1st Rders after QBs IMO
rotoworld on Austin-
Austin was a disappointment as the No. 8 overall pick, posting a 40-418-4 line while playing on just 50.5 percent of his possible offensive snaps. The Rams must do a better job of getting him in space. "I think another year in the program, in the offense, OTAs, training camp, you’ll see more production," Fisher said. Getting Sam Bradford back healthy will help, but Austin dropped too many passes and too often failed to make big plays in small areas last season. Mar 31 - 10:24 AM
