Is there someone in this thread saying the Packers are targeting Mosley, because they believe he can shore-up some of their safety coverage issues and has the ability to man-up on a #2 WR?

I made by point and gave facts to back it up...genius!

Your point sucks and your facts are worthless.

I'd venture to say there were less than 10 times this entire season KV covered another team's #2 WR. When was the last time you saw KV matched-up wide on a WR? I'm not talking inside the numbers against a slot WR, I'm talking outside against a #2 WR.

Mosley is awesome in coverage against TEs and RBs, but anyone who thinks you're splitting his arse out wide on a WR is batshit crazy. Coverage as a LB is 90% about understanding progressions, route trees and pattern reading. That's why Mosley is so productive, he's incredibly smart and pollished. He also sinks so damn well and redirects laterally in an instant.

However, he DOES NOT have the ability to cover a number 2 WR. He does not (nor should he) have the coverage skills and techniques to do this as anyone who asks a LB to cover a #2 WR is an idiot. As I mentioned, LB coverage is primarily about moving laterally. Mosley can't flip his hips and turn and run with a WR. He's probably carried a TE or a slot WR through the zone in Cover 2, but that's it.

I'm not even going to address the fact that 90% of the NFL (the Packers included) don't play with tradition FS/SS roles and utilize more universal/interchangeable roles for their safeties.
