Called pelican point about an hour ago to see if I could walk on the old lakes course. Said the earliest I could get on was 11. Needless to say I didn't go. Thought being masters Sunday and such wouldn't be as many people out.

So yesterday I was teeing off on a par 3 and "CRACK" the head of my pitching wedge snapped off at the ferrel and landed in the pond in front of the green.

out into the middle... probably 50 yards or so in front of the tee box. The funny thing was the sound it made and the feeling I felt when I connected made it seem it was going God knows where. But the ball ended up about 30 ft from the hole pin high

I would have except its only nine holes and they were crowded and being by myself didnt feel like waiting on every shot and missing the only round I get to watch this year.

I got out Nitroed yesterday, twice. Humbling experience. Crooked Hollow and this guy was playing pretty bad. So he says frick it, I'm swinging away. 490 par 5. He had 92 left. I had 179. Never thought I'd hit a 300+ drive and be 90 yards back. He drove the green on a 395 yard par 4 too. Slope helps a lot on that one though, I had 42 left. Still...guy destroyed it.
Btw he got a bogey on that par 5.

The downhill 395, what does the downhill give ya. I think I could poke it down there.
I absolutely laser Nitro'd JOAP's r11s steel shaft cut to 44" 340 yds into the wind yesterday that I pointed through a little opening on 14 at Lakewood. And we had some strong wind too.
I think with that club, a downhill 395 par 4 is right in my wheel house. With a graphite shaft, not sure.

I'd say 290-300 carry would run it down there if you caught the ridge right. I hit a cut and was down there just to the right.
