Patterson may be a better pure passer, but Belton fits what Les wants far more.

ETA: Was told WM will be going to Auburn to learn their offense. Belton should flourish in that system.

Wouldn't surprise me if we didnt sign a QB this class. We have 2 freshmen (1 true, 1 redshirt) and 1 sophomore. Kind of a hard sell to a 2015 kid to come into.

I know what you're saying but with only one injury we could be in very dangerous territory.

They probably have to pick up a QB of some sort in the coming year.

From what others have said, this year will be either Torrance Gibson or we will wait and try to load up in 2016 which should have a pretty good QB class.

seems like a dangerous move to not take a QB in the 2015 class. Really depends on what Rettigs intentions are though.

no way we are going to pass up a qb in 2015. rettig is gone. jennings may be next.

With attrition, history and need at the position, I see us continuing to try to take at least 1 every class, occasionally grabbing 2. The move by Bolden to WR is a halfway decent sign that Miles and Cameron feel that AJ/Rettig/Harris is adequate going forward - and they're all under 21 years old.

We are definitely going to take one this cycle. Depending on how the staff views Pellerin and DRay, maybe another who could play multiple positions in addition to QB.

And I would bet we see two more quarterbacks in 2016
That class is stacked

A name to add to the 2016 watch list is Feleipe Franks out of Florida.

The program may have reached the point to where it is now very attractive to a big time OOS QB recruit possibly 5*. I dont think theres any doubt that LSU wants to add at least one more stud QB this year.

We should take at least 1 every year, even if just a 3 start project. We can't always have all the QB's on roster within a year of each other.

We gave to take one. For depth at least. Rettig will prob transfer, not going to be given a shot. We will be left with 2, if Harris starts, Jennings may leave.

Why do people say things like this? Do they make him sit on the bench throughout practice and not let him throw the ball or participate in drills?

it makes sense that rettig is not being given a real shot. how has harris come in and got the no. 2 spot before the halfway point of his first spring practice. cam loves harris and he has the same skill set as jennings. thus, we would not have to make changes to offense if starter was injured and backup played.

No, it doesn't. They aren't keeping people on the roster just to do it. Whether or not he's capitalizing on the opportunities he's given each day in practice is up for debate. But he's getting opportunities every day to show what he's capable of.

Yeah he's a great receiver for the other two while they work on their progressions. Harris was hand picked by Cam. Rettig came from previous coach.

I never said this, I meant at actually playing, unless there are injuries. But from reports he's the only qb not taking 1st string reps. So no he won't get a shot at starting. Rivers played, but wasn't given a shot at starting, he transferred. How hard is that to understand?

And so did Lee. But he actually started a bunch of games.

Do you think welter should be starting? I mean the other linebackers have been given the opportunity in practice.

Rettig may or may not transfer at some point but I seriously doubt it will be because 'he wasn't given a shot'. That is just total BS. If he came out in practice and scrimmages and looked better than the other two then he would be starting. People are idiots who believe MIles and Cameron don't want to play the players that they believe give LSU the bet shot at winning. You really think Cameron couldn't build a system around a pocket passer? We had Mett the past two years dumbasses.
