I support both LSURussian and IB Freeman in their righteous e-battles.

Nope. They are not going to "declare a state of emergency"at some point.

You just contradicted yourself. Couldn't figure out if you should deny it or justify it, so you did both.

Does anyone know the justification or interpretive process that lead the OP to conclude what has been posted as an incorrect thread title and subject?

Or is this an example of dishonesty?

He is a self-professed expert. Here's an action shot of him explaining his logic.

At least IB usually has his facts straight. Russian is just a hack.

Nope. What I am saying is there is not some ominous declaration of a state of emergency coming in the future. This legislation declares it as a matter of legislative definition on order to invoke special legislation to provide for continuity of tax collection and public services to the City if St George once the incorporation takes effect.

The state of emergency exists solely because without it and this legislation sales taxes couldn't be collected and there would be no governance. It sets down the process for running the city during the transition period.

That is neither justification or denial. It is called explanation and discussion. Perhaps you could try it some time. I've done nothing to you and you respond with rolly eyes and dismisiveness. All I am trying to do is have a rational discussion about this legislation.

I support the general provisions of this bill and st george, but I would like to see some changes occur to this particular bill. For instance I would like to see a clause as mentioned above that nobody can appoint themselves to serve on this board. Simple things that I think would make it a better bill.

Right because people would rather pay less tax for a failing school system and $10,000 a year in private school tuition as opposed to a slightly higher tax for an excellent school system, one in which they do not need to send their children to private schools. Central, Zachary, etc.

Fwiw the last several school tax elections for the EBR parish school system have passed including elections to raise taxes to noose teacher pay, build schools and remodel old schools.

People in EBR have stepped up to the plate in the recent past. I believe many have been disappointed in the results.

The bill only redirects the 2% going to the city-parish now - it is not a new tax. Central had to do the same thing.

I've lost respect for Russian here over this. He's played a shell game the entire time. Anti-allowing people to vote. Blaming councilmen, reps and claiming a statewide conspiracy, claiming the Legislative Auditor is not impartial enough to investigate EBRPSS, and now making up complete lies to denigrate SG supporters.

Sad, really. Watching him refuse to admit he was either wrong and/or purposefully and willfully lying about the OP was kinda sad.

Find one post I've made which says people should not be allowed to vote. You can't do it.

Early on in this thread, Russian could have admitted he was an overzealous, careless doofus and moved on to attack the SG movement on another day with a different argument.

But now his only choices are:

a) manipulative, willful, unrepentant liar

or

b) obstinate, clueless, english and mathematics-challenged dumbass.

Why did you respond to the post but only cherry pick the points the poster made to respond to? Why didn't you respond to the above?

Instead you made yet another personal attack against someone. Admitting you are wrong is a sign of maturity. Unfortunately you've double downed on this 2% tax issue and dug yourself quite a big hole.

Bump for Russian to save him from having to do so.

Thanks. I've been busy this morning and haven't had time to bump this thread. I appreciate your looking out for me.

But it's a moot point. Bodi White has said he is "setting aside" his SG school district legislation that he filed this session.

He's so desperate he has even signed on to the BR Chamber of Commerce's bill to change the EBR school board's makeup.

And Bodi HATES the Chamber of Commerce because of the Chamber's perceived opposition to St George incorporation.

Does this mean us folks way out in SG won't have to pay that 11% sales tax?
