ok but is the show going to try and pass it as a cajun accent or an Alabama accent?
When I first saw the spin off I didn't associate this guy with Friday Night lights, I thought it was some weak attempt to sound like he had a NOLA accent or Cajun accent.

It was stated point blank in the first episode that he had moved there from Alabama. As to whether or not the show ends up being any good, it has a chance as long as they don't feel the need to cram 50 Louisiana references in every episode.
If they got that all out of the way in these two, then it has potential.
