I have a surface pro 2 that work purchased. It blows the ipad away. I can use Microsoft office products and log in into my work station and be able to do everything i can on a PC.

The iPad has Office now, too, as does Android.

The Surface Pro 2 is probably your best bet if you can over sticker shock and buy the keyboard battery.

I use Android a lot, have a Macbook and will be buying a Surface Pro whenever my Macbook dies. For work, I think you have to go Windows based tablet. Android just wouldn't cut it for me to us as a fully functioning work tablet. Tablets are great for viewing documents but Windows 8 combines the functionality of a laptop with the easy use of a tablet. But, you pay a grand to get all of the right functionality.
