Guys, we are all kinds of fricked with Omar Gonzales on our backline in the World Cup.

You should have to provide a SSN to buy a ticket to a USA home game.

No doubt. Gonzales has me incredibly worried.

What a great game. Fun as hell to watch. Throw in Johannsson, Jozy, Jones, and Timmy back in goal, this team has me optimistic as hell for this summer. Offensively at least. Defence very iffy, we may have to outscore some of these teams.

I thing Green did perfectly fine. He played aware, and nerves were his biggest problem.

I'm sick of Dempsey doing nothing at all and still being the face of the team. I've got a very rocky history with Landon Donovan and would rather see him out there. He was playing like he wanted a win.

In the end, I think Julian Green is a viable option moving forward, and Jurgen needs to tell Clint that he didn't do shite yet again.

Also, as big of a Landy fanboy that I am, I have to admit that he looked really out of shape tonight.

Im genuinely worried at the state of the entire backline, those guys looked flat out bad in certain defensive sequences. Not knowing who to mark, not following their mark, real simple stuff but they completely blew it at times.

Besler was fine, the other guys that played on the backline (besides Gonzales and Goodson) won't factor into the starting XI.

If I'm honest, I'd rather a Goodson/Besler pairing at this point, but even that is shaky.

Evans/Cameron/Besler/Johnson = Ronaldo/Goetze/Muller shut down.

Did I watch a different game? He looked like he always does. Cheeky touches, some great through balls, a few needless tricks. That's what you get with the guy. His little slick touches and back heel passes start some great attacking sequences.

I've been saying for a while that Gonzalez sucks. He ball watches like a middle schooler.

Green looked nervous but you could see the skill. Ok debut.

I actually thought that was the best Dempsey had played in a while. He linked up with Bradley very well.

I just wish we had 11 Bradleys.

I'm starting to think the same thing. Gonzo looks clumsy. God, I can only imagine what all those German attacking mids are going to do to that guy.

Gonzo was looking good, and then he just has these mental lapses. I do not get it. The first goal is more on Beckerman, but the second one is all Gonzo. That isn't the first time he has been caught ball watching

I thought that it was a perfect debut after his first 5-10 Bambi minutes

Killed any immediate expectation, but you could see why people think highly of him

When he was running with the ball at defenders, the skill and athleticism were clearly there. A few shaky touches here and there, but those will go away in time. He will have a month and change of training and a few warm up games before the WC to get more comfortable with the guys around him.

Any kind of smart attacking player can kill Omar. Götze and Özil would have a field day with his erratic positioning. All it takes is a diagonal ball that makes its way passed Besler because there's like a 6% chance Omar will be ready for the second run.
