Maybe there's a slight chance but things would need to change dramatically in terms of the type/quality players we produce, say, 30 years from now.

However, consider how long it took powers like France and Spain (who only has one other top 4 finish ever) to recently get their first and that Holland is still yet to win one.

Just seeing a US team actually measure up in terms of quality across the pitch with some of these powers even if we lose would be quite an achievement.
