Because Guzan has been playing great for a team in one of the top leagues in the world and the only reason he won't start in the WC is because there's another guy at his position that is slightly better.

Because we are playing two of the best attacking teams in Europe, along with the most technically advanced and athletic of the African teams. In this sense I'm assuming that we will concede possession and shots on target to Germany and Portugal, which will give more opportunities for whatever GK to be involved in the game. Ghana is a crapshoot, but I'm not optimistic that we will match up well with them, and fear that they will work us on the counter.
