I agree 110%, however, the hippie looking, overweight defensive genius who has a twin brother should be thanked along with Loomis.

They have really kind kicked off season acquisitions into overdrive the past few years. They've been nailing FA signings, improving on draft picks, and killing it with UDFAs. That last part should not go unnoticed considering 7 of our players on defense went undrafted. That's amazing.

I think Payton's year off did wonders for this team in the long run. While he may have been rusty in the offensive play calling last year, I think he got over the blind loyalty aspect he may have previously had. He's ready to cut people a year earlier for the long term good and this team will be much better off because of it.
