A car is not an investment.

Everything you do is an investment.

You paid for something? Your money is now invested in that entity. Now granted, cars will not MAKE you money (generally). But it's still an investment. And how you go about buying a car can mitigate how much you lose on that investment.

This is incorrect. An investment is something you aquire with the thought it will provide additional wealth.

If I buy a car, boat, bike bc it brings me enjoyment, than I am not buying it as an investment.

My truck makes me $.25/mile profit on average and I drive 3K-4K miles per month. Its not much but its better than costing me money.
