I bought this house as a foreclosure last year and the yard really turned to shite after it was vacant for two years. I'm sodding the front yard but am going to tackle the back by myself.

The grass is currently dead but as you can see the weeds are OOC.

Earlier this week I put some 25-2-5 on it. Some guy that works at a golf course told me to use it.

I want to kill these weeds before the grass starts to grow.

Any suggestions? Below is a picture of the backyard. The green is ALL weeds. The light color is the grass.

Good luck. I was told to get a soil sample and top dress those kinds of spots.

Instead of starting a new thread ill add to this one... First house, first yard and need help

First question... What kind of grass do I have? Cant tell if its centipede or st aug

What kind of weeds are these and what can I do about them? Is it too late since they have already come up?

Also I am planning on fertilizing/ weed and feed today, what would you use?

why are you putting so much nitrogen down when the grass is dead? that's just a waste of money
