I feel like America is basically undefeatable. The only reason why wars like Vietnam and Middle East have gone on for so long.
Truth is the US is trying to keep civilian casualties at the minimum. If we attacked like we did in WW2 and bombed like that, we would invade and trample quickly.
The total US commitment to those wars isn't near the possible commitment as in a case of total war. In ww2 pretty much any job was military production. They even stopped selling cars and making appliances so they could use the factories. If the US flips the switch like in WW2, we would crush them.
