My only problem with it is that it often seems forced. You start seeing proportions of multiethnic groups that just don't seem typical.

Then in shows like New Girl they have the token black character that left for another TV role after the pilot episode. He is then replaced with another black actor. I find it even weirder that he is back on the show, and it comes off as very forced. But this is really for another thread anyhow.

casting a young black female as a lead in a fictional universe with countless crazy-arse alien species would be a travesty. very atypical.
