CK Associates next addressed the commission. They provided an update to the Red River Project. In order to move to the next stage of the project, they require water samples from Red River, Hampton’s Lake, and Cane River Lake. They requested that CK be authorized to set up and test those locations by GPS. After a lengthily discussion the commission tabled the request until they could speak with Altec on the matter. Altec has provided the water sampling for the commission for over 10 years. The commission authorized Mrs. Fuller to contact Altec and ask them to attend the May 17, 2011 meeting. The expected cost for the testing would be about $70,000.00. Upon motion by Mrs. Vienne, Second by Mr. Laborde, and unanimous vote the commission approved up to $70, 000.00 for the required testing.
