Does one issue really make Joe unfit for the Republican party? Seriously ?

Yes, you must pass a purity test on this board.

In “The Right Path,” Scarborough argues the GOP must re-embrace the principled pragmatism of Ronald Reagan, who Scarborough says kept his core conservative values while reaching out to independent and Democratic voters to create a new political majority.
That's not true. According to the Libs that post here it was Atwater's Southern Strategy of coded racism that worked to get Republicans elected.

Good new for Joe then...he should run on gun control. I'm sure he would do quite well based on that poll.

Now we're saying half of the GOP are Republican solely because of the social issues? Means those folks couldn't care less about catastrophic fiscal policy and debt either.

Link?

Typically socially conservative voters tend to be VERY fiscally conservative. Can't say the same for socially liberal voters.

For a lot of issues if you are on the wrong side than we can not trust you

For example, amnesty. Not only would amnesty give democrats a permanent underclass majority, it would hurt American workers, wages and drain our social services. All it is is a payoff to crony capitalists.

How could anyone who calls themselves a conservative or Republican support someone who supports amnesty?

They can't because true conservatives are driven by principles, not opinion polls, propaganda, or political correctness.

I agree

It's not Republican vs. Democrat, its Big Government vs. Limited Government

If you support a big government issue or cause, I can not support you, I don't care if you are an R or a D

Amnesty = Big Government
Climate Change/Environmentalism = Big Government
Tax Increases = Big Government
Increased Spending = Big Government
National Gay Marriage/Abortion instead of leaving it up to states = Big Government

I could go on

ETA : Santorum won Iowa for Christ sakes. Think about that for a minute

Santorum also won Missouri, Minnesota, Colorado, Tennessee, Oklahoma, North Dakota, Kansas, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana before bowing out of the race.

Do you believe Santorum will be a major force to contend with in the GOP primaries or do you believe his time has passed?

This is my point, you don't think Scarborough would be a better candidate than Santorum?

I do not believe he will come in anywhere near his second place finish in 2012, if he does run. So not a "major force" at all.

"Scary" would not be the word I would use.

The 2012 field was incredibly weak, and it didn't surprise me that he finished second. Who else among the Republicans who were in the race at one time or another was really taken seriously? Gingrich? Paul? Cain? Perry? Bachmann? Huntsman? Johnson? Pawlenty?

The 2016 field will have 6 or more candidates capable of finishing in the top two.

Anybody who doesn't know that the overwhelming majority of social conservatives are also very conservative fiscally is a raging dumbshit.

I like Joe.

People don't like him because he hosts a morning show on MSNBC. How would anyone on this board know anything about what he says during his show when everyone claims to never watch MSNBC?
