Vanderbilt is going to dominate a lot of SEC baseball teams not just LSU, so lets don't go write the season off because we lost two of three in Nashville!

The next two weeks are critical for this baseball team. Georgia is an improving club, but they are nowhere near Vanderbilt on the mound. Hopefully, the Tigers can return to the Box and get the bats going next week anything short of two out of three would be disappointing. Then, they take the road to Florida, who is a quality club, but again you need two out of three on the road.

I look for Poche to continue to improve as the year goes on. Today was not his day, but Nola had a similar rude awaking against Miss St. a few years ago at the Box and by the end of the year was the number two starter, starting big games at South Carolina, and against Stony Brook at the Box in the Super. Hopefully, Poche puts this behind him and continues to develop, I believe he will. It wouldn't surprise me if he is the Saturday starter in a few weeks, maybe as soon as the Arkansas series to start April at the Box.

The question to me is the number three starter. Bowman pitched ok after the first inning today, but he is not going to overpower or fool anybody and Glenn has not been anything near what he was last year, and he had some ups and downs then! If one of these guys doesn't step up, maybe this will be the opportunity for a Brady Domangue, you can tell Paul really likes the guys attitude and work ethic when he speaks about him, so if he can peace together a few good starts maybe he ends up being our number three guy.

To early to make any real solid judgments on this team, but we have a schedule that sets up favorable for us the next month. There are no easy wins in the SEC. We won't be playing a team as good as Vandy till the SEC tournament or later their arms are maybe the best in the nation. So, you gotta think even at worst if you can win with Nola on Friday, you can find a way to at least steal one game on Sat. or Sun. to win some series.

It was hard to tell anything about LSU in the Vandy series. Vandy has a great team and plays very smart. The third baseman had a rough series but overall they outplayed LSU in every phase and should have swept the series.

Bregman looked awful all weekend. Very impatient and tried to pull every thing thrown at him. I do not think he got the ball out of the infield in three games.

Nola was awesome but the other two have a long way.

Vendy just has better players than LSU. It is that simple. Defensively, LSU needs a great defensive first baseman and a center fielder who does not have mental lapses on routine fly balls. And those untimely pick offs...ugh.

LSU is a good but not great team. It will be interesting to see how they develop this year. PM has his work cut out for him.

I predict this team will be a late bloomer.

Don't be surprised if Vanderbilt wins it all...their pitching is sensational and that quirky little ballpark gives them a big advantage.

Javi is the problem and this trend will continue until his arse is gone. The accomplishments this team had at the plate last season was pure talent, not one bit associated with him. LSU must do a better job of evaluating pictures. After Nola it's slim pickings. It would not surprise me, if LSU will loses 50% of the SEC series. Well overrated and do not deserve to be in the top 10 and maybe not the top 15. This team will not make it out of a super regional if the get there at all.

I would like to see a lot more of Fraley. That kid has the potential to be a great player compared to the older guys playing LF who have never consistently exhibited a high level of play after years in the system. Fraley current physical skills and ceiling appear much higher than those being started in LF.

I think the hitting will improve, but not dramatically. The real issue, like with many teams, is the lack of proven pitching. That 1st inning in game 2 was a tooth grinder and foreshadowing of what was to come. If the starters behind Nola improve who knows what the ceiling is on this team.

It usually takes some good fortune to win a game in any SEC series. LSU got it game one, and had none thereafter. Winning an SEC series at home is usually challenging, playing a bunch of new guys on the road and going 1-2 vs a top tier team shouldn't surprise "fans" who have a clue.

Much impressed by the Wiel kid for Vandy, that guy is a weapon at 1B. It would be nice to have a legit guy at 1B instead of it being a fall back position when someone can't claim another position.

nah. teams progress at their own rate during the season. the teams at the top sometimes are just "ahead" and kinda slow their improvement down by not having a sense of urgency. this team has the potential to be a LOT better at season's end than now at the beginning. What is critical is avoiding injuries to key players, esp Nola.

Offense will continue to hold this team back.
No power. Other schools are hitting homeruns.
Awful tough road test for pitching in SEC.

Vandy with all that pitching will probably still flame out in regional play. Corbin has done nothing of significance with all that talent.
