Well, this is the perfect draft to hit on. There are a number of players that are likely to succeed.
I think they will suck the next two years, but I believe they end up with Love and Wiggins/Parker/etc to build a nice core after Kobe retires. Then, they will still have plenty of space to add effective guys like Aaron Afflalo or Chandler Parsons (just random names who will make good pieces on a great team).
The only way that the Lakers instantly become good is the .0000001% chance Lebron goes to LAL.

I assume you wouldn't feel the same about Minnesota if they picked up one of those players in this years draft and kept Love with a long-term deal?
There is a difference with respect to the lure of LA versus Minnesota but there still have to be game changing players available and they still have to figure out their coaching situation. Lakers fans have taken having Jerry West and Phil Jackson running their organization for granted. Now?
