Are you serious ? Game one of a 30 game conference schedule in mid-Feb or the tournament game vs Kentucky, the King of SEC Basketball?

no game in SEC play will be better then this one for LSU all season.

I would say this is the best pitching matchup the nation will see outside of Omaha this season.

When we lost a similar match up of pitchers in 2011 against Florida it seemed to derail the team for the rest of the season.... this game is HUGE

The opposite side of this is that the basketball season (barring a miracle) is basically over.

There is plenty of realistic optimism exists for the baseball team.

If the basketball team was in the mix it would definitely be a different story.
