Not really when after the beta test Respawn talked about rising the resolution with the launch of the game.

I think it was a foregone conclusion that it was going to run a 792p, since the beta released with it. Why would they launch with a different resolution than the beta? They wouldn't know what to expect, from an fps point of view, when it comes to stuttering and frame drops in certain locations. Hardware allocation. A variety of other things associated with a higher resolution could have been a problem if they didn't launch with it being the same.
